Hello. Dr. Odd here. I met Mary Beth back at the University. She is nice and fun as hell. She has lived on some of the sides of the US including Chicago for about a year and we hung out sometimes. She has an interesting life. You can drop her a line here. Mary Beth Yurko

What is the 1st thing you want to do when you get home from work or when you wake up on the weekends?

Get home: Let my dog out so she doesn't go on me when she's wildly jumping on me with the excitement of my arrival. Weekends: Stare at the ceiling and debate whether to get out of bed or not.

Who would you like to pattern yourself after?

My dad died from stomach cancer a year ago and if I can be anything like him, then I will be content. He was a cool dude. He had a strong faith, lots of good friends from over the years, didn't want much more in life than to be around his family, never complained and had a great marriage with my mom. A lot of people respected him for being ethical and wise and I really admire that.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

I love the laid-back lifestyle I enjoy when in Italy, France and Spain in Europe. But, I am really happy if I am around my friends and family, chilling out and being anywhere near water, though.

If you could get paid the same amount of $ as your current job and do anything, what would it be?

I would like to write travel books.

If you found $200 in the trash and you had to spend it that day, what would you do with it?

Get a pedicure, buy some tuna sandwich kits for the bums that stand at intersections in Austin, and take my family out to dinner.

What kind of music you like the most and why?

I like acoustic, mellow stuff- Paul Simon, Dixie Chicks, Bruce Springsteen, the Samples, John Mayer, Pat Green. It reminds me of sunny days driving in the car.

Who have you been most influenced by and why?

My parents mostly. I also feel blessed that I met such kick ass friends at Marquette. They are good people that make me want to be a better person.

What makes you cry?

I am a girl and I cry a lot. I cried when I was writing about my dad before, cry at TV commercials and sappy movies, cry when I am happy, etc. I think that's confusing to dudes.

What is your favorite town or state in the united states?

Austin, TX. For TexMex, hills to go hiking on, lakes to go boating on, fun nightlife, nice people, and kick bones weather. Chicago is a close #2 and is ruled out by the temperatures. I like warm.

What do you usually eat for dinner?

Kraft mac and cheese, spaghetti, Morningstar farms veggie chicken products, enchiladas or sushi.

What is your favorite website?

I just got a URL for my business, so I like that www.agatheringplace.biz. Ain't nothing on there, yet, though. Second, is probably www.drodd.com It has interesting, constantly updated content. When I am bored, I see what's up with Z and try not to look at the barf picture on the homepage.

If you had to hear 1 album for the rest of your life what would it be?

I have this three-disc Best of Paul Simon collection that I really love. His voice makes me happy. I like the African-inspired songs.

What do you do for $?

My mom, her friend and I just started our own company. We want to sell a particular product to funeral homes that will hopefully help people. I have done all the legwork on it so I guess you could say I am an entreprenuer. This is my favorite job I've had so far in my life.

What do you find attractive in the opposite sex?

Sense of humor, faith, intelligence and confidence. Pretty eyes, strong hands and a nice rear end are added bonuses.

What do you like better? Dogs or cats?

Dogs.

What is the one thing people say about you the most?

MB is weird/ MB has a big heart and falls in love too easily.

What do you watch on TV?

Name some shows you like. Simpsons, Will and Grace, Designers' Challenge on HGTV, Real World-Road Rules Challenge, Pet Psychic, AbFab, Oprah

You got any Tattoos?

I have a tattoo on my big toe- to me it is a symbol of peace in my life. My friends in Greensboro used to tease me that it looks like Bob Marley. A lady actually asked me last week if it was Bob Marley. Anyone know of any tattoo removal places?

Do you use styling products in your hair?

Hair spray daily and maybe some pomade if I have a hot date.

What is your salad dressing of choice?

Sweet vidalia onion or honey mustard.

What is your favorite fast food place? What do you order there?

East coast chain Jersey Mikes Super Subs. I get a number 8 there: lettuce, tomato, onion, green pepper, hand shaved provolone and swiss, mayo, oil and vinegar and oregano. Their bread is crusty and good! On the side, a pink lemonade. Man, I miss that stuff from when I lived in NC.

What is your favorite booze beverage?

Red wine.

What do you think people say are some of your virtuous qualities?

Reliable... creative... strong.... good writer.... naive... I can read people really well.... fun... laid back...

What do you think people say are some of your vices?

Terrible driver... speaks without thinking sometimes... naive... can be self-centered... stinky feet...
